NCS Distributed I/O System

Takes the Cake in Lifetime Bake-offNCS NET Concentrator System

Moore Industries distributed I/O product, the NCS NET Concentrator System®, has reached a new milestone in the Lifetime Endurance Test chamber.  Although we tout the NCS temperature specs as -40 to 85°C, it has been functioning around in an oven set at 90°C (194°F) for over three years!  The system is still effectively monitoring, recording and communicating temperature data despite the sweltering heat for three years continually.  The 36 month anniversary was on 14 April 2010.

Moore Industries Adds CSA Certification for Newest Product Lines

Moore Industries has certified two of the company's newest product lines through CSA International, receiving Hazardous Location certificates for miniMOORETM Signal Conditioners and FS Functional Safety Series STA Safety Trip Alarms

The miniMOORE and STA products all received General Location and Non-Incendive approval per cCSAus for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C & D approved for use in Canada and the U.S.

Moore Industries is committed to providing superlative product quality for customers. In many cases, that quality needs to be cemented with a certificate of conformity from an independent, third-party agency.

ControlGlobal.com Features Product Safety Case Study

When Moore Industries released the STA Safety Trip Alarm, professional third-party IEC 61508 certification was critical to the success of the product.  According to Control Magazine's website ControlGlobal.com, "some companies are actively attempting to bypass the vital third party certification by proclaiming self certification to IEC 61508.  This is not in the best interest of end users or the safety industry in general.  Self certification is analogous as someone proclaiming compliance without third-party testing on a hazardous area approval (such as Intrinsically-Safe)."

For this reason, Moore Industries strategically chose TÜVRheinland® to provide a third-party safety assessment and IEC 61508 certification for the STA.  TÜVRheinland is the leading provider of independent, third-party testing and certification services for global companies.

Uniquely, TÜVRheinland released a case study called "Product Safety: Compliance Testing and Certification".  The Product Safety case study highlights Moore Industries' success with TÜVRheinland's third-party certification of the new STA Safety Trip Alarm to IEC 61508: Parts 1, 2 and 3 for single use in Safety Instrumented Systems up to SIL 2.  The Product Safety case study documents the complete experience of developing a Functional Safety product.

Control Magazine has featured the case study online.  To download the case study, click on the upper left side of the review on ControlGlobal.com at: http://www.controlglobal.com/whitepapers/2010/019.html.
